Through reviews, editorial and ideas, Lisa’s Blog captures and interprets the stories of artists, designers and smart thinkers and shares with you the ways in which creative imagination affects our personal lives and our society. This blog serves as a reflection of my wanderings through the art and design world. It is always with wonder and passion, and a good amount of love, that I am able to write here for you as I explore new art venues, interview creatives, and provide tips for artists, designers and freelancers who look for creative ideas on marketing and communications. I’ll also share with you my journey as I attempt to grapple with the challenges of my life, ideas and goals. It is my hope that this blog will be enjoyed not only by artists but also by those wishing to bring art and design into their own life.

It is with great pleasure and pride that I also have jumped into the world of photography. Like writing, I find photography to be an incredible means of self expression and story telling. I love what I discover through the lens of my Canon camera. Someone once said “Before I became a photographer, I was blind.” That is the case for me as well. My journey into photography started because one day I announced that “I’d like to give it a try”.  Due to three blizzards in the winter of 2011, I found myself house bound and snow bound with two old cameras. Things seemed to work out pretty well and people responded to my images in amazing and supportive ways which I never imagined. Photography saved my life. I am drawn toward color, texture, line, light and shadow… always light, but sometimes also the lack of light and how that can effect the subject.
